I have lived in Whitley Bay for ten years and always felt that I'd like to be part of helping the town have some of its former glory restored.  I was lucky enough to grow up in Newcastle and so spent a lot of time visiting this area of the coast, and my husband and I  really feel lucky to have ended up living here.  You;ll often see us walking up the promenades or beaches-  in all weathers!
The original campaign I started in April 2012 was all focused around renovations of Rockcliffe Park and this was successful! This led to our very successful Public Meeting in May 2012 where it became clear that our Rockcliffe residents are proud and happy with where they live, but that improvements could be made.  During that meeting I looked around at the people of all ages, sharing their memories, and hopes and dreams for how Rockcliffe could be improved.  It was great to have drawn the community together that night, and I knew then, that as well as improving the physical environment, "community" should be our real focus.  How can we work together as a group to create a real sense of community? We have a wonderful group of talented, passionate committee members who work very hard, on top of family responsibilities and  jobs, all with the same aim-  to make Rockcliffe a great place for all its residents.
We are here for everyone, so, if you have an issue you'd like us to deal with, or an idea to improve Rockcliffe, then please get in touch.  We'd love to hear from you.

Lynn Carr-Woodward

Role on Committee:
Vice Chair

Lynn first moved to the Rockcliffe area with her husband Mike in 1996. A brief spell in 2006 took them down South. However, a passion for the area saw them return to the area again in 2010 – and moving 12 doors from where they previously lived! Lynn is passionate about working with the Community and ensuring a safe, healthy and inviting environment for all who live, work and visit the area . Lynn has a golden Labrador called Tara and a black Labrador called Pippa and can often be seen walking (and picking up) after her own as well as her neighbour’s Labs, Masie and Trudie on Browns Bay! Lynn also undertakes the role of Secretary for a North Tyneside Badminton Club (Tyneside Sharks) and has also had her own Business for over 8 years, offering business support, which all helps to equip her in her role as Vice Chair the Association.

Role on Committee:
Secretary

I have lived in Whitley Bay for 10 years with my husband and we have two young children. I was really keen to get involved with the commitee to help make a difference to our area. Its been great to meet new people and get involved with all areas of the community. Its lovely to be involved and see the changes we can make together.
